I always quite enjoy going to Bar Rio for some scran, especially since they do a half price pizza and pasta menu between 5 and 7 Sunday to Thursday and they do a student menu (which they actually offer to everyone) between 11.30am and 5pm every day. This means a pretty affordable pub lunch on a busy Saturday, we're talking mac and cheese and a drink for a fiver, or a decent plate of pasta with your mates on a weeknight. And the food is pretty tasty for the price.

    Worth a visit!

I really like this place, for its cosy ambiance, the range of prices and the lasagnas. I'm actually getting hungry just thinking about it. Definitely a place to check if you are going to Dundee.

Chicken goujons were a little dry, macaroni cheese somewhat stodgy and the salad was the same on each plate, but for a combined price that came in under £10, not terrible. The waitress was very nice.

They really take advantage of the great location with plenty of large windows to watch the world go by and it is a really pleasant place for lunch or dinner but the stars are missing for 2 reasons -

    1) I remember when this was Leonardo's & Co and the menu was SO much better

    2) the windows are great if you like people watching but they make it a terrible bar venue - I am generally not a fan of TVs in bars since they just distract me so having a huge window on the world is not exactly conducive to good chat.  Also, since there is just so much see-throughness surrounding you, you don't get that fug atmosphere that I think is crucial to a bar - you don't get to wrap yourself up in a banter-bubble away from the world since the world is staring into your bubble, distracting you.

Good centrally located bar with decent food.  Extra marks for the disabled toilets .... Well done
